Minutes of GM Friday October, 30th 2020 – Meeting called to order 7:05 P.M.  10 members in attendance.

SECRETARY:  Read various correspondence: Update on poor service to Loon Lake road from Michelle Shilling, TNRD LLVFD use of Community Hall for training, Posting of Fire Hall Tour on Facebook, TNRD – Jason Tomlin regarding an Agreement for use of the Community Hall, Annex and Grounds.  AED accessories quote.  Motion to file correspondence, Sue Burdeyney, 2nd Accepted and filed.

Since the last financial report, September 25, 2020, a cheque for $1250.00 has been sent to

TNRD as the firehall portion – 50%- of the fly fishing Tackle box raffle.  LLCRAS retained –

50%- of the raffle profit – $1250.00.  There has been very little action since the last report of

September 25th.

Funds have been spent on – Office Supplies – stamps $118.85, a gift card for $25.00, and utilities – hydro of $117.13.  Deposits have been received for membership – $60.00, a donation of $20.00 and a T-shirt sale of $15.00.

Income statement and balance sheet were made available to look at and includes financial report from July 27th to September 30, 2020.

I have set up the Community Hall on the balance sheet based on the tax assessment.  Since that time, we have found information showing the original cost of the building of around

$66,000.00.  We will then add on the cost of the Annex building and an adjustment to the balance sheet may be required.  Motion to adopt Gail Smith, 2nd.  Accepted and filed.

SECRETARY: Read LLCRAS Zoom meeting minutes, October 5, 2020 (ELECTIONS). Motion to adopt, Sue Burdeyney, 2nd. Accepted and filed.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

SUNSHINE: Report read by Kimm Davis.  Accepted and filed.

WORK BEE’S/ ART BEE’S: Karen reported on roof work needed to avoid snow piling up on the sidewalk.  Ray Pullen advised 1 strip on the roof would work fine.  Provided two quotes and will hire Larry Koster to do the job.

MEMBERSHIP: Cathie Johnstone reported, 224 paid members, 8 lifetime members and 5 associate members.  Sue Burdeyney has agreed to volunteer collecting memberships from the Ranch lands. Thank You Sue.

FUNDRAISING:  Kimm reported Fundraising Calendars to be designed using the top 12 photos from each category (1st, 2nd and 3rd winners from each group).  This will be the #1 fundraiser to proceed for Christmas.

Maureen reported Mo Bradley visit in Kamloops, Mo again generously donated 2 ice fishing rods, 2 sets of ice fishing flies, (child & adult) and a signed copy of his new book ”Trout School” Mo wants to continue to help out with fundraisers for LLCRAS and will provide us with more flies for ice off.  We will wait for spring for this fundraiser and combine them.

Karen presented the Plottel family prints donated for a Loon Lake Fundraiser.  Adam Plottel painted the scene during the 2017 fires raging at Loon Lake.  Date of Fundraiser to be announced.

FIREHALL:  Sid Ward, Acting Fire Chief reported the communication system didn’t work between Kamloops Dispatch and LLVFD recently.  Dispatch still had Colin Smith’s number on their list so he did get a call.  Fortunately the calls were not under the jurisdiction of

LLVFD.  The Communication system is being worked on.

FIRE ADVISORY:  Faye reported she and Chris are waiting for newsletter from TNRD to give info on how to apply to have a seat on the Committee.  Anyone interested can also check out the TNRD website for applications.  There are five (5) members needed in total and three (3) are currently vacant.

BOTTLE FUND: Faye reported year end total of $7,000.00 raised for TNRD/LLVFD.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  LOON LAKE ROAD REPAIRS – DAWSON ROAD MAINTENANCE.  Discussed an online Petition to send to the Legislature directly if we do not see better action from Dawson Roads.

ELECTIONS BC: $900.00 in total is being paid to LLCRAS for use of our Community Hall.

WELCOME TO LOON LAKE SIGN:  Kimm to follow up again, she reached out twice to Sally Watson however she did not respond back.  Loon Lake would like to see the sign placed at the original location by the mailbox at the beginning of Loon Lake Road.  Discussion took place on where else to put it besides the 2nd approved location.

NEW BUSINESS:

TNRD/LLVFD LEASE AGREEMENT: Karen and Jason Tomlin are in discussions regarding a TNRD lease agreement for the Annex and Community Hall.  Discussion on items such as hydro bill, protocol for COVID cleaning, snow removal, grounds maintenance all to be part of lease agreement going forward.  Community pride to keep all grounds clean and neat and appealing to members and visitors.

SPORTS AND LEISURE: Request for Pickle Ball to be played at Community Hall.  Moira explained the sport which can be played with minimal people and safe distancing.  Motion to accept Narda Finlayson, 2nd.  Accepted and noted.

COMING ACTIVITIES:  Some other activities for future use of our Community Hall. Computer training, Word made simple for everyone’s use.  Cooking, First Aid, AED training, (supervised) and yearly Fire Extinguisher maintenance.  Please forward any other ideas or suggestions to LLCRAS.

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS: Adopt a Family from Ashcroft, Food hampers for Clinton. Maureen, Jackie, and Gail to look into all and will report back to LLCRAS.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH: Winner September 2020 – Doug Kavalec, worked with his tractor to clean grounds and debris much needed at the community hall.  Congratulations Doug.

Winner October 2020 – Lloyd Morris, work bees and instrumental in getting Fly fishing fundraiser off the ground which was a great success.  Congratulations Lloyd.  LLCRAS thanks you both.

Cathie reported they will have a road send off for George and Doreen who will be moving to

Merritt, October 31, 2020 8:30 A.M. they will be leaving from their cabin. Meeting Adjourned: 8:37 P.M.
