On behalf of the LLCRAS Officers and Directors, Lois Harper has secured a Stage 3 permit to cook our Annual Pancake Breakfast on July 3rd in our kitchen at the Loon Lake Community Hall. This was also recently announced at our General Meeting on June 24th. We will continue to seek permits each and every time there is an event that uses our kitchen until our renovations are completed with the recent grant approval money of $140,000.00 with LLCRAS chipping in $10,000.00.
Unfortunately, due to the recent wildfire activity in our area and TNRD Evacuation Alert for Loon Lake Rd from Evergreen Resort eastward we feel it is appropriate to cancel the Pancake Breakfast Event and Flea Market that were scheduled for July 3rd and 4th. We hope to organize these events in the future when the evacuation alert is removed.
In order to get ready for our Community Hall renovation, our Sea Can has been emptied of the Chicken BBQ’s that were donated by Norm and Diana Dixon. These are being safely stored and we hope to have a permanent covered spot for them in the near future. We will be using the Sea Can to store as many items from the hall as possible to make way for the upcoming renovations.
Volunteers continue to maintain the community hall and grounds. Fire Smarting has been ongoing and with the threat of a wildfire in our area it is something that we will continue doing.
