Rules & Regulations

Sponsored by: Loon Lake Road Community Recreational & Agricultural Society (LLRCRAS)

1. Eligibility

The contest is open to Canadian residents. No purchase is necessary.

Photos must be taken at Loon Lake or in the surrounding Loon Lake area of British Columbia. Photos do not have to be taken in 2026.

2. Categories

🌲 Wildlife – Wildlife photographed in and around the Loon Lake area.

🏖️ Lake Life – Photos that capture what it means to live at, enjoy and experience life at Loon Lake.

🥾 Active Outdoors – People enjoying outdoor activities and staying active at Loon Lake and in the surrounding area.

🏔️ Landscape – Scenery, views, sunsets, nature and landscapes from Loon Lake and the surrounding area.

3. Photo Submissions

  • A maximum of 6 photos per category may be submitted.
  • Horizontal (landscape) photos are strongly preferred for calendar use.
  • Photos must be submitted by email to llcrasphotocontest@gmail.com.
  • Each submission must include the entrant’s full name, category and photo title.
  • Basic cropping, colour or tonal adjustments and black-and-white conversion are permitted. Digitally created or substantially altered images are not eligible.
  • Photos must be the original work of the person submitting them. Entrants are responsible for obtaining any required permission from people appearing in their photographs.

4. Deadline

Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PT on September 30, 2026. Late entries will not be accepted.

5. Calendar Selection

A panel of volunteer community judges will select 12 photographs for the 2027 LLRCRAS fundraising calendar, along with one cover photograph.

The judges’ decisions are final.

Each photographer whose photo is selected for the calendar will receive one (1) complimentary calendar. There are no other prizes or compensation.

6. Copyright & Use of Photographs

The photographer retains ownership and copyright of their photograph.

By submitting a photograph, the entrant grants LLRCRAS a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive and irrevocable licence to use the photograph for any purpose related to LLRCRAS, without further permission, notice or compensation.

This includes, but is not limited to, the right to copy, reproduce, publish, print, display, distribute, crop, resize, edit, modify, adapt and create derivative works from the photograph in any format or media, including calendars, websites, social media, advertising, promotional materials, fundraising materials, publications, posters and other print or digital materials.

This licence applies to every photograph submitted, whether or not the photograph is selected for the calendar.

LLRCRAS may use the photographs indefinitely and without geographic restriction. The entrant confirms that they own the photograph and have the legal right to grant these permissions. The entrant is responsible for any claims arising from copyright infringement or the unauthorized use of a person’s likeness.

7. Agreement

By submitting a photograph, the entrant confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these Rules & Regulations and the rights granted to LLRCRAS above.

LLRCRAS reserves the right to reject or remove any submission that does not meet the contest requirements or that it considers inappropriate or unsuitable for publication.
